Bulk-billing for the following:

Pension card holders

Attendance at chronic disease management clinics

Consultations for Health Assessments and Management Plans

Consultations that are for issuing repeat prescriptions only (as we believe that regular review is important, we do not issue repeat prescriptions without a consultation)

Otherwise, our fee for a standard consultation is $50. A full list of fees is available on request.

Appointments:
Appointments for Standard Consultations are booked at 15 minute intervals. A long consultation should be booked if it’s likely that more time will be required. We do not wish to rush patients during consultations. If it’s not possible to address all issues within the time available, then patients may be asked to make a further appointment.

We always try to book an appointment that suits patients’ needs and convenience. We have availability for appointments ‘on the day of booking’, although these may not be with a patient’s regular GP.

We ask patients to let us know if unable to attend an appointment.

Investigations and follow-up:
If a GP has requested an investigation or a referral to help with diagnosis and management, then it is the patient’s responsibility to act on this, and to follow up results and outcomes with the GP.

Our approach:
At ‘The Health Spot’, we practise an integrative approach to medicine. This means that we use orthodox, complementary, and nutritional medicine as appropriate to help patients, and their health. As with other General Practices, we believe that health is about physical, emotional, and social well-being, for individuals and their families. We support preventive medicine, and we promote healthy lifestyle choices.

Confidentiality:
Patients’ health information is strictly confidential. We use computerized medical and accounting records which are electronically secure. We will not disclose any information about a patient to a third party without written consent. The only exception to this is when a GP makes a referral to another practitioner with a patient’s verbal consent.

Patients have the right of access to all information that is held hold about them. Patients who wish to obtain this information should apply in writing to our Practice Manager. There will be a small fee to cover costs in providing this information.
