Central to the countryside's rich farming land and well-known attractions, Cobden is a small town located 208 kilometres southwest of Melbourne. Situated just 10 minutes from the Princes Highway and 30 minutes north of the Great Ocean Road, Cobden's friendly locals, community spirit and lovely accommodation options make it the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding sites.

Cobden Miniature Railway and Mini Golf Park has been established for over 10 years. Site works commenced in February 1994 and the Park was officially opened in June 1994 for its first public run.

 

Cobden community boasts the following projects:

Cobden has also achieved a goal of establishing    a Bendigo Community Bank in the town.

 

Cobden is located amidst low hills near Curdies River, 208 km south-west of Melbourne and 39 km north of Port Campbell. It is a small and picturesque service town of tall flowering trees and about 1400 people within a prosperous and closely settled dairying district. There is a large butter and powdered milk factory in town although its chief appeal is as the gateway for the Twelve Apostles and the spectacular Great Ocean Road.

 

The population of Cobden and district catchment area is 5000.

 

The town has a number of recreation spots - Apex Park and Playground, Rotary Park (which has barbecue facilities) and Vagg Memorial Park.

 

Cobden is 45 minutes from Warrnambool, 30 minutes from Colac and 10 minutes from Camperdown. The Geelong bypass will be in place by 2009 which will cut traveling time to Melbourne.

 

Cobden hosts the Fonterra Milk factory and Cop Rice. The area also has local farming districts with supportive industry.

 

Cobden has a primary and secondary school (Cobden Technical School).
