The Melbourne to Warrnambool train passes through Winchelsea several times daily.
A wide range of leisure activities are available including golf, tennis, lawn bowls, shooting, Aussie Rules football, Scouts and Guides, local Community House which offers several different types of adult education, Lions Club, local repertory society and several other outdoor activities are available.
There are several historic homesteads in the area and a number of old bluestone buildings in town. |

Winchelsea is a pleasant small town of approximately 1300 people and is located on the Barwon River 112 km south-west of Melbourne on the Princes Highway between Geelong and Colac.

Winchelsea is a rural community with a Primary School, Supermarket, Bank, Swimming Pool, two Hotels and several other small shops. Secondary students have access to buses to take them to either Geelong or Colac. |
