The Rural Palliative Care project commenced during August 2008 and continues until 30/4/2011. The Rural Palliative Care project bridges the gap between specialist palliative care and primary care providers by increasing knowledge of the Palliative Approach in the primary care area by: • the establishment of a network of primary care professionals who have an interest in palliative care • the education/upskilling of these professionals • collaboration with existing palliative care services
